Born and raised in Cary, NC, Rick has seen his hometown go through many changes as it has grown from a small town to the developing community it is today. After graduating from Apex High School, Rick went on to Appalachian State University where he majored in Business Administration and then attended law school at Campbell University where he served on the Student Bar Association and was a member of the school’s moot court team. Following graduation from law school, Rick served on active duty in the United State Navy with the Judge Advocate General Corps. He thereafter served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice where he prosecuted white-collar felony cases. He is proud to include these as some of his most rewarding achievements. Rick is now retired from the Naval Reserves as a Commander.

Rick’s primary areas of practices include: Condemnation Law, Corporate and Business Law, Commercial and Residential Real Estate Law, Estate Planning, Foreclosures and Business Litigation. He has substantial experience representing clients in commercial and residential real estate development, including entity formation and organization, land acquisition, subdivision and leasing. He also provides lender representation to local and national banks.

Rick previously served as a guest lecturer at the Campbell University School of Business teaching corporate law to MBA students.

Giving back to the community is also priority for Rick. He is an active member of the Cary Chamber of Commerce and the Cary MacGregor Rotary Club. Rick has also had the privilege of being involved on several non-profit charitable boards that positively impact Wake County, including currently serving as a fundraising volunteer for the Taylor Family YMCA. He also previously volunteered with Life Experiences. He previously served on the Board of Directors for The Carying Place, which provides temporary housing for local homeless families with children.

Aside from his law practice and community activities, Rick’s enjoys spending his free time with his family and being a father to his three children.
